Les enfants terribles series

The point of departure for Les enfants terribles is the 1929 novel by the same title by French writer Jean Cocteau. The novel describes the relationship between an orphaned brother and sister on the cusp of adulthood. Their symbiotic relationship begins with an air of innocence but slowly builds to a dramatic finale created through the depiction of a series of moments, each with a distinct poetry of gestural description. The series was toured by Galerie McClure / Centre des arts visuels (Montreal, Quebec) with stops at: Maison de la culture (Pointe aux Trembles, Quebec), Dalhousie Art Gallery (Halifax, Nova Scotia), The Visual Arts Centre of Clarington (Bowmanville, Ontario) and the Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, Hart House (The University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario).
