Whispers (The Yiddish Folk Tales), is based in the world of magic and legends of Yiddish speaking Eastern Europe, my heritage. Searching for continuity between past and present, I focused on stories that allowed me to portray children reaching a stage of independence and completeness. Their transitional nature is echoed in the recurring image of the “Trickster”, appearing as a “Jester” or “Rabbit”, an allegorical figure hovering on the border of the unconscious, inhabiting the space in which light and shadow play tricks.
